Applying Motifs on Leather

Our leather pieces start with carefully applying detailed motifs, such as animal designs like tigers, directly onto high-quality vegetable-tanned leather. Using traditional leather tooling tools like stamping irons and swivel knives, each pattern is either embossed or intricately cut into the leather surface.

The Tooling Process
Before tooling, the leather is moistened with a sponge to make it flexible and easier to work with. Dry leather is hard and difficult to carve or emboss. Tooling requires a sturdy work surface and precise hammer strikes on the stamping irons, ensuring even depth and clear, detailed designs.

Once completed, the leather dries and sets, preserving the sharpness and beauty of each handcrafted motif. This delicate process demands a skilled hand and deep understanding of leather behavior, resulting in exquisite, long-lasting artwork.

Silhoutte

In the silhouette technique, only the outlines of the design are cut out, and the design inside these lines is beveled and matte-finished.

Silhouette stamping offers many possibilities for creative design.

Figure carving - Leather Art

Figure carving is a traditional leatherworking technique where detailed figures and scenes are created using special stamps, knives, and fine tools. Through precise workmanship, a lively, relief-like image with clear contours and impressive depth emerges—a true eye-catcher on any leather surface.

Inverted Tooling

Inverted tooling reverses traditional embossing by engraving the design into the leather surface, leaving the background raised and untouched. This creates a striking contrast and unique textural effect that sets your leather goods apart.
